SS super test vs SS Super Test Whiteouts
« on: December 30, 2014, 02:23:53 PM »

Hi everyone

As there seems to be a lot o interest in the SS whiteout gloves I thought I'd do a comparisson of these compared to the off the shelf version.

Firstly the looks. These are essentially the same glove, just one doesn't have all the snazzy colours. Both pairs use high quality materials (as you'd expect from a high end glove) and look & feel solid.
Other than colours the only visible difference is the palms, with the off the shelf gloves having sheep leather palms, while the Whiteouts have a variant of pittards.

Now onto the Mallet test. As one hand was on the mallet and the other inside the glove I didn't get to take a video.

Both performed well, without the Whiteouts seeming to offer any substantial extra protection. I wacked myself on each hand and if anything the bottom hand on the whiteouts offer slightly better protection (and I stess only slightly) on the bottom fingers.
What was apparent was the Whiteouts were bigger (longer fingers) and more flexible.

And so you can see both pairs for yourself

Lovely gloves, I do think the all-white version look a lot classier.

I bought these whiteouts also. They were meant to be a way to spare my Newbery SPS 1s. As it happens they are just as comfy, a slightly better fit (I wear a 7.5 or 8 glove), cheaper, and not too far behind in looks department either... Definitely a big step up the other SS gloves compared above. I wonder if I need another pair to spare these?😉

The all white gloves look great.

Did you really hit yourself with a mallet?  Fantastic!

I absolutely loved the minimalistic look and quality of the glove.  Think I must have freakishly large hands as I just found them a little bit too snug for my liking.

Hi there, I am looking to purchase these gloves but I am an average sized 14 year old and obviously these are a mens size. Would these gloves fit or would they be too big for me? Do they come up big or small as I have heard that Asian gloves come up small.  Thanks :)

So would an SS regular mens be similar in size to an English company's Youth size?

I had the regular men's. Lovely gloves but had to sell them on without using as they were too small for me.  So guess regular Indian men's is similar to our small men's/youths?
