Those old GM stickers bring back fond memories, but more than that I think the modern GM bat decals just look cheap, which seems so ironic when some newer brands go for the traditional look in (I assume) an attempt to create a semblance of heritage. On most days as a youngster, I used to pass by the GM factory on Castle Boulevard (on which Nottingham Castle sits), with the canal behind it, only a stones throw from the river Trent. The green and blue of the old fashioned decals I guessed always signified the Trent and Sherwood Forest. Times change, but things go in cycles… bring back the GM Blue and Green, and whilst we're at it, smaller edges, bigger spines (a la Paul Adred's New Velocity - keeping up The Midlands tradition)! I also liked their traditional shapes but they lost me after The Diamond, which was good off the middle but was a bit of heavy pick-up as I recall (then again I was even weedier than I am now!) ;) That Striker would have been made just here! There's even a suitably named MG Maestro in the foreground of the first picture.

Love my GM's - don't own anything else,I bought the Striker over 20 years ago ,I wanted a Maestro like Sir Richard had but it was to heavy for me as I was playing indoor weekly too ,I bought the Mogul a couple of months ago as the young fellas in the slips on other teams used to ask each other loudly "I wonder how old that bat is" ,My 10 year old son in his second season wanted a bat like dads so he got his for Christmas ,I sold an electric guitar I wasn't using and decided to invest in the Icon before all the money just got absorbed in day to day family living - can't wait to try it in a T20 tournament in the middle of January

I must say the ca 36 sticker makes them look cheap and nasty. Is that a normal sticker for your market (I'm presuming your in India, with the kids atleast being kashmir).

Add that both models seem to be in a different shade of of colour(left pink, right purple), you'd think atleast one is a set off fake stickers.

Where did you purchase them from? Are the decals embossed??

The icon looks much better, especially with the proper original le sticker and gm now sticker on there.
What's the story behind it's pro issue??

The CA 36 logo is in reference to Corey Anderson's 36 ball hundred, and I could be wrong but I thought it was just in the NZ market.

That explains that, poorly designed IMO, but maybe they rushed them to cash in on his 36.

Both bats bought from a large sporting chain here in NZ so definitely genuine - might just be the flash making them look a bit pink - decals are embossed,I have thought about taking the 36 off my bat but my son Astle is a massive Corey fan so his will stay
Bought the Icon off the bay from a seller who got it from a player - all he wanted to tell me is it belonged to an English 1st class player - maybe someone on here knows who - it has an LV= sticker on the back

Have you looked under the grip, either top or bottom - may be some initials other than the county championship sponsor, Liverpool Victoria?

Good seeing the old factory - I went to university in Nottingham and a mate lived next door to the post office in front of the factory. Probably makes me feel old as they've been in the new site some years!

Also as for the stickers I don't think they emboss the stickers on the Kashmir willow bats, as its not embossed I'm guessing it would be produced differently. That may explain why they're a different shade.

But the cynical so and so notes it's the same shade as the ebay stickers  :-[
