I suspect that I'll regret asking forum members' opinions on this, but anyway...

why did he tweet that though, out of the blue.

And nothing offensive about it really, not sure how factually correct he is.

He should be concentrating on how he is going to take some wickets

Funny, people think the poor should have money taken away to motivate them...

Its reference to an oxfam released stat about wealth and the top 1% own half of the worlds wealth. And while that is an interesting stat, to qualify for that 1% you have to have assets (including a house if the mortgage is mostly paid) of $800,000 or roughly £500,000. While that is a huge sum, there are roughly 2.6 million 1%'ers in the UK of which he certainly is one. Pretty stupid tweet, because he does not get anything good out of it. I never get why celebs say things like this because they are hardly going to get 'yeh yeh your so right rich guy, I should feel humble'. So stupid!

it is in reference to KP calling players on £15k muppets.

he is a clown.

his central contract is worth £700k. year before his match fees, bonuses and his endorsements.

he got his first million at 23 years old.

on the up side he pays significantly more tax than I earn!

Completely agree. Twitter is full of offendomongs these days who get themselves wound up over nothing. Plus the media are rubbish and love a non story getting bloom out of all proportion so they can get more website hits. Even if he does think that it's his opinion

He earns loads and probably dodges some tax but I am sure he still pays a lot more tax than many. It is not like he is committing benefit fraud and robbing us tax payers.

It is his opinion, let it be, not like he is punching young players in their face, [#Root and Warner], he just called them muppets, could have been said out of affection. Hardly an offensive word now is it.
