New Zealand vs Pakistan ODI Series 2015
« on: January 31, 2015, 01:12:28 AM »

1st ODI in NZ at Wellington on 1/31/2015.

Pakistan bat first.

Hafeez out on duck in the first over - pretty big gap between bat and ball; may be he should defend with two bats!

Only thing good about Pakistan so far is their jersey colour.

Easy win for new Zealand.  And Williamson rested!

They are looking good going into the WC.

Yh was a solid performance by New Zealand with bat and ball. Only positive for Pakistan was Shahid Afridi with 29 ball 67 and 1-39 from 10 overs.

Hope they do better next match.

Are Pakistan the worst fielding side in the game at the moment? Watching them at times is almost laughable, lack of athletic ability, speed or coordination

NZ looked great!

Pakistan have a lot of work to do! What's the point of 140 k bowling if you can't pitch in the right areas.

Hafeez should leave cricket and just pose for cameras - his forward defense and bails flying in the back ground was as beautiful as some pictures of solar eclipse published by National Geographic.

They have fielding coach currently, so imagine it if he was not around.

Indeed, so should Younis Khan from ODI's.

I am starting to disbelieve Umar Akmal even, he seems like Shahid Afridi. Performs once in a blue moon.

Good to see Grant Elliott do well. Good utility player. Can bat 5/6/7. Good fielder and decent with the ball.

2nd ODI, 2nd innings. Misbah and Afridi batting with Pakistan in the batting power play. Can these two pull Pakistan to safety? Can they score enough runs to take the average down from 10+ p/o to something reasonable? And, as I am typing this, Afridi is out.

This is an opportunity for an epic victory for Pakistan if the middle-order capitalizes on a good foundation laid by the openers.

Pakistan don't have the ability to go at 10rpo.

Looking better for NZ with Taylor getting a 100 and guptil getting a start.

Pakistan need to completely rethink their playing XI. Playing with 4 bowlers plus Harris Sohail just dont seem right in the conditions they are playing in.

And wow, how good are the Kiwi's looking!  :D

i think the Kiwi's have one of the best balanced sides in the WC - an opening pair who can exploit the powerplay in McCullum and Guptill, then batters who can bat the whole innings for big hundreds in Williamson and Taylor. They also have guys that can clear the ropes down the order and a bowling attack that is completely varied. I think they are going to be very tough to beat.

Hafeez and Shehzad's running between the wickets was too slow. They should've taken more singles and converted some singles to doubles (granted Blackcap's fielding was outstanding). The team doesn't have the right balance either. Fawad Alam should replace Younus Khan. Bring bowlers Y.Arafat and Y.Shah in the team. Replace Hafeez with someone else and take pressure off Shehzad.
