Old Guard Supporting the New
« on: February 19, 2015, 05:55:06 PM »

Well it is a very exciting time here at the moment and a lot will hopefully be put out more publically soon but this is a lovely bit of news for me. Its funny how things turn out in life sometimes. As I am not a company who will actively go out trying to get first class players to use my kit as a sponsorship, its funny how things transpire. we have taken on a Young Lad whos just been contracted by Derbyshire CCC. The story behind this fits everything that I want to do as a business. When I finished playing first class cricket I went back to my original club where I grew up, Swarkestone Cricket Club. I didn't pro for them I just played and did a bit of coaching when I was there. It was a young team apart from 3 of us who played when I was a young lad but there was some talent and a few of them were certainly pushing for some county second eleven cricket. There was one young lad who came in and out the first team chucking down dodgy off spin and I got him bowling seamers and from that point within 8 months we got him netting with Derbyshire that lad was a lad called Wayne White who has had a half decent run in first class cricket. Now why all that story you may be thinking, well at that time I was coaching his young brother Harry and he has been offered a contract and that is who we have taken on and are privileged to be supporting him in his future career. He is a very talented left arm seamer and can bat but above all is a lovely lad and I wish him all the best in his future and hope he has half the fun I got out of my time playing. Keep an eye out for him he will go places I reckon.  Here are a couple of clefts he picked out and are absolute beauties. both spectre one of them a butterfly one, 2-10 pick ups incredible without doubt feels like 2-8. big bats lots of wood in them and really stunning. No different to what we make for the club player so if you like what you see get in touch. I remember couple of people who helped me in my cricketing life and hope I can pay it back to one or two others.

Thank you for those kind words. I've always loved the game and fortunately not for what I could get out of it financially, perhaps as well as I never made anything financially out of it :D I made a lot out of it morally and in experience though

Lovely story Paul - I've driven past Swarkestone cricket ground many a time!
