Excess on grips
«
on:

Complaining about having too much length is something alien to men I know but on this occasion that's just what I'm doing
I put some new grips on my bats this weekend but was left with an inch or so excess grip at the top of the handle.
How do people deal with this excess if they have experienced the same thing in the past?

I just roll it up and down at both ends and to try and get it to shrink and fit correctly, fair to say my hands always end up being red raw after having put on a few grips

Leave the bat alone with some nice photos of flat, well-mown pitches for a little while, it'll soon get excited enough to fill the excess rubber

Agree with Cam. This always works for me. Open palm hit on the top seems to force some air down the grip which ever so slightly adjusts it down (I could be wrong but that's what works for me).

Thanks for the replies gents, sounds just like batting i.e. best bet is to keep giving it a whack over the top

Yes hit the top of the grip with the palm of your hand it will gradually go down.

Bat grips are a lot like women, sometimes all they need is the palm of your hand on the back of their head to encourage them to go down!

Either hit the grip as suggested or just trim it with some scissors
