Week-1 : LW Signature
« on: March 11, 2015, 05:46:52 PM »

After seeing lot of you posting so many pictures and writing good reviews of their bats i am going to try and see if i can to. I will post one review per week starting from Best bat ever and all the way to the worst bat ever i owned. I have always soft corner and feel LW are the best bats i have ever owned , But slowly after using Salix i feel they are also up there.Reached out to James at LW and asked him for very light cleft in signature range and after waiting few weeks James sent me a picture of this cleft and as soon i saw it i felt its going to be a belter so i went with it. Previously most of my LW Bat profiles are either Chad profile or LW Reserve but for this cleft James asked me to see if he is OK with him experimenting and changing the profile little bit but assured it going to be a big bat and i went with him .
Specs:
2.9 in weight
grains 18
Super Short Handle with Standard Blade
Thick Handle with Coil Grip
Red Stickers , Fully knocked in with toe guard

After 3 weeks I have received Images of the bat after its fully dressed. Here are the images:

I have started using it from last couple of weeks after the winter is over here and its playing really really well. As many have discussed yes it DID pick up 1oz weight during winter but since it doesn't feel like 2.10 i have no issues timing the Ball.

Quote from James :

Signature #147.

One of the finest bats to leave the workshop for a pair of very deserving hands. At only 2bs 9ozs this Signature feels more like a 2lbs 6ozs and will perform as if it were a 2lbs 12ozs bat.
The boys think they have never seen a bat that big for the weight. It has a truly unbelievable pickup.

Enjoy the pics.

Wow. Getting seriously tempted by an L&W. Definitely on the bucket list.

That's a lovely bat, but that's 50+ signatures sold in less than 2 years!!

@ursmasti Forget about having a collection of Lavers I bought one Signature bat. I'd be thrown out of the house by the wife.

The grains look great and I love those stickers. But I didn't like the heartwood near the shoulder. It should have run all the way down or not be there at all  ;)

Really? What number sigs do you have mate?

Mine is number 23 and was made in May, 2008. So that's 123 made since mine including this one in 6-7 years.
