Evening All,
After being a regular reader of the forum I've decide to finally take the plunge and post my first review.
I recently asked Paul at Aldred to make me a 2 pound 8 players grade spectre after seeing the service he provides through his section of the forum. After discount (by being a forum member) the bat only came to £250 which for a top of the line bat is a very decent price, especially in comparison to some of the more renowned bat makers in the market. The service was great with the bat arriving swiftly and well packaged within 2 weeks of when my order was placed. The bat itself is a nice size for its weight, with 38mm edges and a 61mm spine with not much concaving. It pings well all over the bat to be honest, which I'm surprised at seeing as it has a reasonably high middle. It's pressed perfectly, nice and soft yet sturdy at the same time. Grains are also reasonable, with only one small blemish on the playing area. The handle is semi-oval as requested and it picks up as light as a feather!

Last years bat was a GM Original six6 which is honestly the best performing bat I've owned. Sent it off for a refurb at fordham sports as the toe was knackered and I cannot wait to continue using it this year. Once again 2 pound 8 with 39mm edges.

Palms are great as is the protection. Look the business as well.
Last years gloves were GM Originals which were nice enough at first but after a few wears the failed to remove sweat quickly, hence I opted for pittards this year. Protection is good but not on the same level as the SS.
The Newbery TT Pads are fantastic in my opinion. They have that traditional design with minimal colouring on the front, whilst not being excessively heavy. Protection is good and they're flexible enough.
Currently have a pair of aero p1's in the post so the p2's are on the way out.
2013 Masuri steel grill lid - does the job, don't really fancy anything to expansive like an ayrtek.
Lastly the spikes are a pair of adidas trainers (with good enough support for a spinner) which were done by Brian and Brenda down in harrow. Can't recommend them enough. The job a quickly done, only £30 and spiked trainers are more comfortable for me than spikes themselves.
