My New Aldred Spectre 2lb 8oz Butterfly
« on: March 17, 2015, 05:02:35 AM »

Hi this is my second bat from Paul. I initially had a 2lb 7oz Velocity which remains my Sunday Best and mostly not worthy of my lack of prowess so I asked Paul for a net bat. After discussion we agreed on a Spectre, it has a slightly higher middle (compared to my Velocity) and an extra 1oz. (The Velocity shape has changed a but since he made my last one). This is what I got, and as I usual I am very happy with Paul's craftsmanship and service. Single grip, thick oval bottom hand, high middle, 35mm edges and 60mm spine, very light pick-up (very similar maybe slightly better than my Velocity), and seems to respond very very well, as good as my Velocity. Here are the pics…

Paul's own shots - better close-ups but I prefer the on-location stuff :)

Very nice bat. I was considering the same. Any reason why the stain is on the back not front?

Total guess but because that's where the stain grew in the tree, and was then positioned on the cleft when cut?
