Peter Trego
« on: March 17, 2015, 01:12:15 PM »

The Somerset thwacker has signed for Bath City FC of the Conference South. I know he's played a bit before at Non-League level but aside from the historic obviouseseses (Botham et al) can anyone else name anyone that's played at both Pro Cricket and Semi-Pro or Pro football in recent years?

Had no idea the Keith Barker had played league football, he qualifies more so than Trego!

Not quite the same but Gary Linekar played for Leicestershire 2s.   Arnie Sidebottom played for Huddersfield Town and, briefly, Manchester United.

I don't really understand this... So will Trego now miss some of the Somerset pre-season stuff?

To me he seems a fairly key player to them, so is it not a little strange how they would release him mid-week to play semi-pro football?

From what I can gather he's likely to be 3rd choice keeper. He must have been playing for Somerset 1st's when he played 40 odd games in a season for Clevedon a few years back so it's possible.

Thinking of someone else? Trego definitely isn't a keeper!
