Bat for 2015 season
« on: March 26, 2015, 07:38:43 PM »

Hi guys, not really a new member to this forum, been on it for a long time as another user but forgot my password.

Quick question I've been looking around for a new bat recently. My budget is around £200-£250, looking for a custom made one possibly with my specs (to copy another bat, a Newbery Bomber Players - the best bat I've ever used).

Just looking for opinions on who offers the best service, also might be interested in a smaller company that done well in the recent AOC magazine.  Hopefully the bat can be completed by the start of the new cricket season. (12th April).

Fire away....

Vitas cricket are offering a G1 bat made by hunts County for £175. That seems a bargain to me. alternatively all of the sponsors on here have had good reviews.

We have lots of H4L in stock, seemed to get some very good ratings in AOC. Can arrange for one to be made for you at fantastic prices.

Alternatively we offer custom made bats from hunts, plenty of great reviews on the forum on them

Feel free to send me a PM to discuss :)

My Red Ink is fantastic, couldn't recommend highly enough.
However, I'm sure the Hunts, H4L etc are great too.

Thanks for the messages guys. I've done quiet a lot of research into bats this season and looked at ItsJustCricket video reviews on all of the bats. The Vantage cricket bats have always looked quality, any had the pleasure of wielding one of these yet. The Volt LE is only £200, which is very reasonable price by the seems of things.

Couple of questions if you have used them;
1) Where are they based too?
2) Can you go and pick a bat from their shop?
3) How good are there bats in general compared to other bats you may have used in the past.

For 200quid, go see Paul Aldred and choose your cleft and watch him create a bat to your specs .
It's worth the money to watch a master at work

Hello everyone. I am a new member in this forum.
Mate, for 250 quid you must strongly consider an SS ton reserve edition bat. It's WICKED. The volume of wood to weight ratio is insane. Slightly bottom heavy, can't deny but that'll only last for a week or so. Haven't heard absolutely any1 go wrong with it.

Hey MrTekkers, jus checked the Newbery bomber b52 players bat. I'd say it is very very similar to my suggestion unless ofcourse you are from the anti-indian bat brigade  ;)
Jus another point if it's of any help - I've checked a fair numbers of SS gladiators & SS reserves on the Ryobi moisture meter & the average reading was 10. Hope u get my point here

I would rather go to a English company and within a distance so I can travel to and pick the bat up and see the shop etc.

I'm from Wales.

Blank Bats always look top notch and you can get them made which ever way you want. To be fair any bat maker/store on this forum will make or sell you a decent bat.

Yes. Drop them a line and have a chat but you'll find links to a batmaker mentioned earlier in the thread. I've had 2 - lovely bats
