Interesting read (also interesting that it is from 2002).

Similar to Ian Pont.

I think what reading that (and ponts books) tells me is that I really need to get video of my bowling to try and improve it further, because I'n at the stage of not knowing exactly how bent my arms/legs/back etc is.

Oh Christ !
I got to the first coupla bits an gave up!
It's the same (No Swearing Please) that tried to alter Jimmy

You've gotta find what works for you as a bowler, It can't be engineered into you, or coached, or tweaked or whatever!
If you can bowl fast, you can bowl fast,,some bellend from wherever is not gonna do owt to make you faster
These people are trying to create a position/role for themselves,,,, there are very few people out there can tell a bowler how to improve
Nowt wrong with trying to protect them from injuries etc

I kinda agree with you. I read all this stuff and just think it's people over coaching and basically making themselves a job.  As long as you prevent injuries, that's the key bit for a coach.

Prevent the injuries, but build the muscles and muscle memory for bowling fast

I'm sick of hearing it now,, my lads 6'5 and bowls pretty quick, but at Somerset he's been coached to bowl top of off on their wickets
He can't bowl a Yorker on crap wickets to save his life,,,,so where does that leave him?
If left to his own devices he will figure it out eventually , but just pees me off a bit
