Now, after being quite jealous reading other people's threads, it's finally my turn to show off my new Red Ink.
John has kindly taken me on as a sponsored player (at a cost of 1 mini-egg per run this season), so I will soon be featured on his website as a 'proper' batsman
John was very good to work with, despite his occasional insistence on spending time with his 'other half' instead on making my bat! The brief was something largish in profile but not too weighty. I was happy with smaller edges and a higher spine, in a sort of homage to the M&H bat profiles. It has come in at an incredible 2lbs 8.5 with a really, really good balance and pick up. It's only an X3, so it is perhaps not the prettiest, but I have seen much worse, and I wasn't much bothered with looks, more performance. Early indications are that it taps up very well indeed.
It's simply one of those bats that picks up really well, and seems to suit my rather poofy arms - so I'm looking forward to getting it knocked in and in use.
