Groin strain
« on: March 30, 2015, 11:54:10 AM »

Just looking for some advise on how to over come / stop pulling my groin muscle when bowling ? It's my right groin and always happens in my delivery stride.

Groin strain you say...
*insert masturbation joke here*

Crazy suggestion, have you tried properly stretching before you come on to bowl?

Yes Cam
I stretch properly it only happen last year after 20+ years of playing. Maybe it's just age !

Get one of your team mates to give it a good rub.

For the groin area, I've heard if your teammates load your box with the stuff without you finding out it has the best results!

Has to be stretching mate, try more dynamic stretches and it should help overall.

Used to suffer from groin strains a lot when playing golf, was down to my core being all out of whack tight hamstrings, glutes, hip flexors etc. I did lots of glute work to get them firing again plus lots of core strength and conditioning, had no problems since. Lots of good vids on youtube.

Thanks for that. I'll do some research on glute and core work

Ultrasound is the answer. Had groin issues a few years again and it did the trick. Bit of stretching to avoid it happening ago and you are nearly ready to go. I was also banned from running for six months until it had recovered, but it was winter :-)
