I am looking to get a salix ajk bat at 2.9 soon to replace both my Salix pod 1 finites. Also maybe a sf black edition bat (to replace my m&h amplus mark 1 as its a bit heavy for me and has a higher middle) or even a top end custom made bat from sf or Andrew at Salix or another bat maker. So I need advise what to do.

So in short the best 5 bat makers in order and what shall I do?

The bat will be of highest quality willow as found in the Salix ajk range or sf black edition range, or even better.  Basically willow that is limited to eg 5 blades a year amongst 1,000s so I need good advise as to what to do. Iv already spent a lot of money on bats. Previously I'd just get them free, as a paid player and coach. I will try and sell a few on to help replace the new purchases. As I won't use them all and they will just be wasted, esp if the weight is not right etc..

I currently use Affinity carbine at weight 2.8 / 9. As an opening bat who spends time at the crease this is perfect for me, as were the pod 1 finites before. I'm pretty sure the ajk will also be perfect for me, (slightly better then the finites of course).  As for the sf, this will be just good to have, I think.

I have the below bats

Affinity carbine, match bat 2.8 (currently in use)
Salix pod 1 finite 2.6  new
Salix pod 1 finite 2.8 new
Salix torque 2.8 new
Bradbury players 2.8 brand new
Kookaburra kahuna players bat 2.8 brand new
Millichamp & Hall Amplus mark 1, weight ~ 2.10.5 brand new.
Ca players used 2.9

A few others which Iv now sold laver and wood (was too heavy and too hard pressed), gm Luna le, too much concaving.

All the bats were the very top of range from when they were released and are all in new / brand new condition except the carbine which I'm using at the moment.

In your answers and reply, if possible, please mention your knowledge and experience with bats, as I will greatly appreciate an honest and neutral view from eg a bat collector who has played at a high standard or a retired pro or a shop which sells all the best bats.  I already know some of you.  This will get my attention the most and will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Why is this in the BB section?  ???

8 top of the range bats and looking for more, you're going to fit in well here!
Never mind, you were easily persuaded not to buy more wood  :-[

in the mean time, why not just enjoy the bats you have?

Oh my god man!!  what are you on?

The most foolish suggestion I have seen on here in years, he clearly doesn't have enough quality sticks.

I think "the best" bat is very subjective and lots of people will have lots of different answers.
For me (although it's still new) my Red Ink is the best bat I've had.
But then again, I've not tried Aldred, H4L or Kippax.
You've come to the best place but even here I don't think many will have tried all the possible bats available (not through a lack of trying though!), and remember two bats from the same company can be very different.

If you spend the sort of money you're talking with anybody, you're oing to get a ruddy good bat. But as has been said, if you already have so many bats, why do you need another?

Unless of course you're just here to brag about your selection of bats, in which case there needs to be photos. Or else.....
