Did I just read that Haddin was the best keeper in the world?

I think he's done a decent job in recent times. No Shane Warne but a decent test off spinner.

We could get into a lengthy debate on this, which has been done before, so I shall merely guffaw at the thought!

No James Faulkner either.

Australia are producing some top class players.

An xi not in the ashes squad.

Maddinson
Klinger
Burns
Lynn
Finch
Maxwell
Wade
Faulkner
Pattinson
Cummins
Bird

White, Ferguson, Henriques, Khawaja, Coulter-Nile, Hastings etc.

Amazing talent.

Clearly Pietersen has been told he will play

 :o

If he has been told he will play, there must be the expectation of failure in WI and against NZ from Graves.

But that is off topic

The Aussies have picked their team to win the next two series, succession planning is irrelevant - you pick the best available XI you can and the young players have to step up.

My question for the Much vaunted Aussie bowling attack is who is going to bowl the dot balls if Harris gets injured - that is why Siddle has been picked - you can't have three strike bowlers in an attack with a spinner as you need to have a holding bowler.

The pitches are also going to be terrible dead lifeless flat ones... it will be hard graft for the bowlers on both teams.

In fairness, Hazlewood has looked capable of holding an end, and Watson would be a perfectly serviceable stock bowler.

Hazelwood looks accurate enough, if anything.. he has the promise to be a darn good holding bowler

Hazelwood has done really well.

I always thought he was behind the likes of Starc, Pattinson, Cummins etc but he's improved a lot.
