NB stunner
« on: April 05, 2015, 03:47:58 PM »

Ok so here is my new New Balance TC 560 2.10. Had to wait about a month for this as Paul sold all his original order of these bats.

First thoughts are this is a quality bat at an excellent price, this model is supposed to be G3/4 willow I believe but this could easily be graded as G1 indeed looking at Wrights grading this would be G1. 7 straight and even grains, all sapwood and no marks at all. The profile is huge and tapping a ball up the middle really is quite long and certainly goes a good way up the blade, pick up is also very good with its mid/high middle and full spine. Running into the toe. The one area i wasn't keen on was the handle which is exceptionally skinny and I'm not a fan of the standard grip but easily fixed.

So I took the original grip off to add a second layer of binding to make the handle thicker and replace with a thick chevron grip when written at the bottom of the binding is the figure 860. Now maybe I'm wrong but I would hazard a guess I have been very lucky and ended up with a higher model than is actually stickerd. Which if is the case very lucky for me but either way this is a lovely bat. Just need some NB softs now  :D

Looks like you got a good un there.

As for which model it is, apparently the handle on a 560 is 4 piece whereas the 860 has 9 pieces.
