« on: April 10, 2015, 01:33:23 AM »

Hi everyone,

Depends on a lot of things.

1. What is your batting position?
2. What format of the game you usually play.
3. What is your best area for scoring or your strong shots?

http://www.gm-cricket.com/pages/bat-selector/  :)

I have found that this doesnt really work very well...High Middle = Icon, Low Middle = Aura

Ah GM, very similar to a clingy an ex lover of mine, not my first choice for the year but will be there in case I fancy a quick knock!

I used a Six6 (among others) last season and it was a lovely bat, nice long sweet spot and picked up well.

In this season's range the Icon would be my recommendation to anyone who I don't know how they play. I love the mogul and aura profiles too.

Are you mainly a front foot or a back foot player? What are your strong shots? It's hard to suggest a bat without some background info.

My usual batting position is normally 5-7 but our batting order can be quite hit and miss at times. I batted at 6 last year for example and i wasnt in until the 23rd over. Then batted at 5 in the next one and was in by the 3rd.

I normally play in 40 over games but we have entered a T20 league for this season too.

I would say im probably best at driving along with playing the pull.

I would say im more of a front foot player overall. Going by the marks on my current bat most have shots come from a mid-low part of the bat.

Use the bat selector, as recommended, but the Octane sounds like your best bet

Bet the bat selector suggests an Aura Octane  ;)

This definitely wasn't edited after I saw the post below!

Bat selector gave me the Octane. How does the Octane pick up?

Dont know if GM Have improved their handles but the 2014 ones had a very thin handle = very poor pickup

Waved a few Moguls around the other day and they seemed nice bats - your best bet is to go down to a retailer and see which one you prefer!

Octane is a great shape. Low middle , full profile and big bats for the weight. Depends on what weight you play with . If you come low down the order 4/5 then octane is a good selection as you will need better pickup in case you are opening.
