Victory cricket bats?
« on: April 10, 2015, 11:43:14 AM »

Anyone any info on Victory cricket bats?

Spotted one in an Oxfam window,,, I will have a look when the display is taken down.
Within the display there is also an unused box of Slazenger Tonbridge cricket balls.

The mother of the lady who runs the shop, organised tours at Lords, and has mentioned her house is full of old cricket stuff!!!
She has now become my new best friend!ha

With a name like Northern Monkey I could have an educated guess as to where the shop is!

well Tonbridge was the design of cricket balls used in top League cricket in the early 90s.  It wasn't unique to Slazenger - I made my debut bowling a Readers version.  Think the name refers to a particular pattern of stitching.

Ah right, cheers for that
The balls looked a weird colour, very bright red,and the stitching was very white
Almost cheap looking?

I will take some pics tomorrow of the balls and the bat

Shops in Oxfordshire by the way,,,should narrow it down a bit  :)

Seam on the balls look like what you get on the kookaburra turf.

Could be a snip if the price is good.
