Definitely get an England adidas one mate, or a M&H one.

(posted purely for Musama, who should stick to selling fake stickers).

Anyway, enoug about bags, where are you touring more importantly, and can I come?!

Too late!  ;D

Ordered the 2010 Aero last night! Had to order to ensure that I didn't keep changing my mind!  :-\

THE TOUR! Well - first it was Brighton, then it was Bournemouth (as Brighton hotels were too expensive).
But one of the team found hotels for decent price, so it looks like Brighton again now.

We'll just have to ensure that we stay away from men with dodgy moustaches!!!  :o

My vote was for Holland or Jersey, but as 2009 was a credit crunch year, we thought we would try to keep costs down and stay relatively close to home (Oxfordshire is home)

Play for a team called Crowmarsh - its kind of in between Henley, Reading and Oxford.
We play friendlies mainly (on Sundays) but we have some players who also play some league on Saturdays as well. when they can be bothered.
Plus we have this nice twenty20 'friendly' league with 12 teams on a Wednesday evening.
Sundays we try to ensure we also have at least 4 fixtures that include beers and BBQ after (as apposed to the normal beers without the BBQ!)  ;)

Basically we like to play for the fun of it and enjoy ourselves mate. Sometimes we play against a team who are far too serious -- but we try to play against teams who enjoy the game wiithout getting too competitive, as it can become nasty and you lose alot of enjoyment when its like that!

tell me about it, I used to play and skipper a team in the prem league and I just got bored with all the chat and actually retired for a year.

I couldnt resist it, so returned, but now i play a lower level where if there is chat its actually funny as the players arent as good! I enjoy it much more and I try to help bring the promising kids on. Its still competitive, but its fun now, not like a 6th day in the office.

Good call - you made the right move I reckon.
Unless you want to go on and play absolute top level cricket, which is obviously more serious and professional, then you should make it enjoyable!
I've just finished level 2 cricket coaching, so we'll be doing the same - bring the kids on and it also helps to keep the team fresh with new faces....rather that our old wrinkled faces turning up all the time!

Where are you based mate?

I play for Marlow in Bucks. Good club thats gone backwards a bit in terms of league, but the track is really good (had first class games on it and minor county stuff). Aim is to get promotion in 2010 and start rebuilding, but making sure its done in the right fashion by investing in youth and not fly by night mercenaries.

You should know where I am then mate - we're not too far from you.

We are rebuilding too, but obviously on a lower level.
In an ideal world, a league team would have the main team, then enough fringe players to setup 1 or 2 'friendlies' teams.
Then the friendlies used to bring the colts into the adult game arena gradually, rather than throwing them straight into a league game!!

The friendly league we play on Wednesday is more of a league 12 teams put together, which is why we calll it a friendly league.  :D

Some of the guys in the team play league on Saturdays, and think it may be the Cherwell league, but will ask them when i see them next.
I dont play league myself, as i prefer to play Sunday friendly if i can. And if i tried to play Saturday as well, then my wife AND kids would divorce me!
So one afternoon at the weekend is the max at the mo!
I would play 3 or 4 times a week if i had the chance though!  ;D
