Bopara keeping him out the side.

Steyn and Williamson can't get a gig. So can't see morgan playing.

You couldn't make it up -that's awkward for the selectors - "Eoin go get some IPL experience, we need to  know what this biffing's all about..."  "Er, can't get a game, sorry, the guy you left out in the WC is keeping me out..."  Still, you join the circus, you can expect the unexpected.

Second string XI or not, at least we're giving some new guys a go.  I genuinely do think with the ODI team we will see big sustained change

Would have thought Morgan might have said since I'm warming the bench here at the ipl, let me go captain my side for one game and come back  :-[

The game's probably going to be washed out anyway

Do you think Morgan gives two hoots?
Many journos said he had probably played his last ODI at the World Cup.

At 28?. Most batsman get better with age and he's potentially got another 7 years+ of top level cricket.

indeed it's tricky, not many players from England actually get picked for the IPL, KP was one of them, Bopara sometimes....Morgan has been picked for a while but not played so much. To be fair to Morgan, he wants to earn as much as he can from the IPL, any sport can be a short career....
For what it's worth i'm delighted England are moving forward, I reckon the ECB will back Morgan long term to have the new guys in and build for the next World Cup. He(morgan) has been in a shocking run of form but on his day he can be devastating and def plays the 'modern' game

His form has been wretched. Stranger things have happened.

Gregory is very good. Will probably play for eng long term but needs aanother full season at Somerset.

Bowls deceptively quick, very full, and very straight. Not something England do too much. Hits his Yorker well too At the death.

What's the betting that in 18 months he will be bowling back of a length, wide of off stump?

Don't know much about the others but seen a bit of Billings and Ansari when watching kent & surrey. Sent think Ansari would get a go but a decent bat and not a bad bowler plus being gun in the field so he does cover all bases and has been a regular for Surrey since a very early age I believe.

Billings can be a game changer and his keeping has come on as well, could be a threat to butler in all forms moving forward and I personally have championed him for a while, probably on part to being a kent fan lol.

But in any case no 11 could do worse than the tried and tested from the WC, would love to see 5-6 of these play regularly moving forward with the addition of the quality and experienced players who can play the modern way sun h as butler, Bopara who I have always liked as a player, Morgan, Root etc hopefully some positives from Engkand in the short format over the next 18 months or so

The thing to remember is, if we are going to experiment with youngsters like these (and others such as Overton, Wood, Bell-Drummond etc) you have to accept that there will be bumps in the road.
