Edge/toe damage - advice please
« on: May 10, 2015, 06:48:26 PM »

Evening all

As I'm not able to play for a while I thought I'd try to give my bat a bit of a spring clean.

I noticed there were a couple of cracks down the inside edge.

Hopefully you can see what's going on from the pictures. My question is, do I leave it and hope for the best, or take the scuff sheet off and get some glue in there?

I think I would take the scuff sheet off and put some glue in it so it does not get any worse

My bat needs a refurb can I drop it into you? Can you message me cost?

Scuff sheet is off and there were two separate cracks.

I've cleaned the residue from the scuff sheet off and given it a sand.

Now it's over to eBay and Royal Mail to deliver some syringes and needles before I can progress with the repair.
It might be a blessing in disguise I can't play next weekend as I have no reason to dish the repair now.

what syringes/needles did you order? I got some but they were rubbish but equally i think i was just being a bit thick. What mix glue to water (if you mix it down at all) do you use?

Give me your address I will post you some. Don't mix water with the glue. The needles I use are about 50mm long and have a green end. The shorter, heroin addict ones are too narrow. Just make sure you don't leave the glue in either the needle or syringe.

Toe guard off, needle in, leave a few hours.
Sealed, solid, a light sand and scuffed

Also lookup dispensing needles on ebay.
