how does it go?  I'm still trying to work out the drawback of a £57 bat like this!

Mine taps up well but isn't by any means a trampoline. It has improved during the knocking in process, and with a bit of playing in I'm sure it will perform very well. I just need to actually have a hit with it when I'm able to play again.

As for the drawbacks for the cost:
You don't get to play with it before you buy, you're purchasing on dead weight and trusting someone else.
No returns - The cost to send it back makes it pointless
Potential damage in transit (but that's always the case)
What if customs hack it up

Yep have to agree with this, I was dreading Customs taking a drill to the bat just like they did with Simmons bat  :( but luckily they never touched it.

Wow did UK customs really do that to someones overseas order?

Was it just bad luck on their part or did it come from somewhere known for contraband smuggling?

Naaa haha  :D that's what the US Customs do to your bat if you enter their country, I've never heard of UK Customs doing that but you never know.

Here's the article about it: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/28711774

Oh, ok, glad to hear wasnt UK customs.

I can imagine US customs being interested in items coming from the caribbean and probably scoffed at the idea that it was a bat as it isnt round like all the bats they use  ;)
I'm surprised they didnt cut open a few pads as well to see what was in the knee roll....

Think I persuaded the captain to get one of these along with myself after he had a net with my ss sir richards. He couldn't believe the size for the weight the bat was.I may have to sell off my ss blast to finance the master.

So I've oiled it and done about 2hrs knocking it in and it has improved a fair bit tbh, the toe isnt as dead any more and the middle is pinging a lot better. Another couple of hours and it'll be ready for scuff sheet and toe guard. I'm still over the moon with my purchase and it being a bargain.

So I thought I'd do a little update on the bat. Its been oiled, knocked in, shoe goo'd, scuff sheet and the edges have been taped up. Its not seen any nets as of yet but hopefully that'll soon change. A few people have asked about the 'ping' so I've also uploaded a quick video of me tapping it up with a brand new Morrant Crown ball, so see for yourself but I can say it got better as I knocked it it. Finally I've also uploaded a few pics of my first attempt at shoe gooing a bat, I think I could have done better but its a learning experience and I'll know for next time. I hope this is of use to people, night all!

looks good. I made my shoegoo toe thicker. Knocking in a SS Gladiator for someone ATM and the profiles are identical with my master 2000, perhaps 1/2 mm less concave on the Gladiator and 13 grains instead of 6-7. Pressed the same. Toes as thick as each other. Same cameo cover, but also includes a bat sock made of the stuff they put sunglasses in. Much stiffer willow. If I closed my eyes and picked up each bat id not know which was which.
