UK TON bats have Sareen on the back compared to other TON bats which have Sunridges on the back.

Yeh thats what I thought, but like why do they care so much. If you are so fussed, don't sell them to the UK, or let retailers know they will not get supplied or shhh. And I would love to know what legal action they would think about.

The issue is that TON UK have the distribution rights to selling the brand in the UK, if shops are importing direct from India then they (TON UK) are missing out on sales/revenue in the UK market place that they are licensed to do so within.

I get why they are annoyed from a business point of view. But it is an internal argument between them and SS India, because they got the bats from somewhere and its a supply chain thing rather than the retailer themselves if you see my point? I just don't know why they did it all over twitter! But then again Alan Sugar did call me a (No Swearing Please) over twittter!

Have to Ayrtek, if TON UK want all sales to go through them then they need to make sure SS India aren't selling to UK retailers but also UK stores need to go through the proper channels when purchasing equipment, both parties need to co-operate.

The thing that confuses me, is that Indian market SS AND TON bats have Surridge on them. Its only UK market that don't, from my understanding/internet digging. So I am a bit confused why they are in such a huff. They have imported Indian TON bats with the branding that it not legal in the UK, but they cannot really do anything. Unless I am wrong with the branding?

Nearly there. The key point is it is illegal for anyone apart from Surridge to sell a product carrying 'SS' or 'Sunridges' branding in the EU. The original source of the goods is irrelevant to the wider point.

You as a customer can buy and import an SS bat, or a TON bat with 'Sunridges' branding, but you cannot retail that item legally in the EU.

Ahh okay, I was sure i was wrong! Quite a few of the bedroom dealers are selling them! Not just SQ! Is there a link to the legal proceedings or information? I am very very bored and quite like reading legal papers!

Not sure they are published anywhere but if you dig around they may crop up.

It is if you question the integrity of the poster. I very much doubt either brand will be upset with such free advertising.

Its not surridges, it is sunridges in indian market....

TON branding started around 2000 maybe, before that it was only SUNRIDGES SS....

I got a Ton bat but apart from the hologram (little gold sticker) it didn't have Ton branding. It had SS branding.

I was enquiring at the time about why it had a slanted 'S' inked onto the side and not TON as did all other bats I had seen. I tweeted Ton UK who told me it wasn't an official product as it didn't come from them. I think it was imported. Anyway it's a sweet bat and now I've had it refurbed to lose a little weight and clunkiness it's a dream bat.
