SS Reserve Players Grade Willow
« on: May 22, 2015, 06:01:01 PM »

I purchased this bat a month ago from Swat @ Cricmart after a lot of thought and due to work commitments I could not review this bat. Here it goes, after owning 3 B3s crown willows, 3 Lavers (2xReserve + 1xSig), Hammer Black Edition, I have decided to try out an Asian bat. Let me tell you guys that this is not a off-shelf bat as this is a proper players grade willow of an Indian player which I don't want to name. He has been very helpful by providing lot of pics of player bats and I have finally went for this one after his recommendation. He has got great experience, gives out honest opinions and provides excellent customer service. I normally use bats in weights of 2.7 to 2.8 and jumped the ship to buy this bat. Below are the specs:

Weight - 2.9 but picks up 2.7ish
Edges - 40mm
Pickup - Feather light
Ping - Super Pingy
Grains - 7 with no heartwood which is my preference
Profile - Full profile, nil concaving and quiet a thick toe

The willow is soft just soft pressed just like how the players prefer and also to be honest I don't like stiff bats. Just prefer to knock it in, use it for 3 to 4 nets and directly into the match. The pickup is light and picks up exceptionally well and is evenly balanced. I have done few changes to the bat is that I have changed the SS stock grip to chevrons and removed the back/side stickers. This bat is one of its kind and pings exceptionally well after knock-in. I would really recommend anyone to buy players grade bat from Cricmart and this bat is certainly a gem.

Very nice bat .. Did you remove the stickers on the back ? Did you do that to reduce the weight ?

Looks a top bat, well finished, big for the weight but not so sure of it being in the reserve grade. If it is actual players bat then it might be worth it.

Saying its a international bat or pro is marketing ploy, sorry to break it to you.

Thanks for your reply. That was not the reason for removing the sticker. I dont like bats with so much stickers anyways [emoji1]

I found cricmart really helpful. Bought a master 5000 as was curious what an Asian brand bat would be like. Still knocking it in and tried a few shots in the garden with an old ball. So far so good .

Hope this one goes well for you, looks a lovely stick.
