Broken little finger
« on: May 26, 2015, 06:12:56 AM »

Broke little finger 2 days before start of the season. Broke one side of joint wire removed this week.  Been told recovery 8-10 weeks.  So thoughts turn to playing again does anyone strap fingers to prevent further damage?

When I broke my little finger it took me out for the full 10 weeks as I couldn't hold a bat properly. I had to do a load of physio to get a proportion of the grip back. I'd recommend doing all the work they recommend and not pushing back early as your little finger is incredibly important in ensuring a strong grip and if you don't do the work properly or damage it further, it will affect your ability to grip properly for life.

Thanks I had been planning on the longer side all along.  Not planning on rushing back as know tale end of season maybe 3
2nd or 3rd unless it all goes exceptionally on my return.
