Bishop has a bruised finger or he'd be in.

Samuel injured and no chanderpaul for experience. This could be a short test match too.

Clarke  and smith digging in.... ish.  Big six from clarke earlier.

Run machine smith continues on. Decent 100 in testing conditions early on.

West Indies looking mediocre in this series

So I've been away since the end of the last Test, but something's don't change. Steven Smith continues to relentlessly pile up the runs. Kid is unbelievable.

Jerome Taylor has also been outstanding. Pity that the rest of the West Indies attack is dreadful.

8/350 at lunch on day 2. Steven Smith 175* edging towards a maiden double century.

Steven Smith out for 199! The third Australian after Elliott and Waugh to get 199. Great innings shame he didn't get 200.

Close of day 2

West Indies 8/143 and in disarray. Jermaine Blackwood top scored with 51, but played a ridiculous shot 10 minutes from the close and gave his wicket away.

3 wickets a piece for Hazlewood(he was fantastic) and Lyon. 1 a piece of the two Mitchell's.

West Indies avoid the follow on.

Some lovely hitting from holder, smashing the Aussies around the park. Really should be batting higher.
Shame no one else stuck around.

Long way behind still

Josh Hazlewood has sealed his starting berth for the Ashes series. He's bowled really well on these docile pitches. Seems as though the attack will be Harris, Hazlewood and Johnson/Starc.

Steven Smith was in regal form in the second dig and continues to score runs by the truck load.

Let's see if Smiths regal form continues on an overcast morning when Anderson is swinging it around corners.

You better hope not... Let's not forget the formidable Aussie bowling attack at the moment... The English batsmen will be in church every Sunday leading up to the Ashes series praying for a miracle

Last time I remember Anderson bowling in the Ashes, all he was doing was swinging it into the middle of Bailey's bat...
