Junior Helmet advice
« on: June 03, 2015, 09:42:10 AM »

Morning,

I'm looking at getting my 10 year old nephew a helmet for his birthday in 2 weeks time.

He wants to stick with his old one which is getting very tatty but my brother is insisting on him getting a new one and has suggested looking at the latest Masuri Junior.

He plays an awful lot of cricket (Local Under 13's and Worcestershire Under 11's) so requires something durable. He's quite tall for his age and is only getting bigger so may grow out of a new one in a couple of years.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

I'd say 'accidentally' drop something on his old one to make it completely unwearable if you need to.

re the replacement, cant help really as I have no experience of Junior hemlets so don't want to speak out of turn.  Best advice would probably be to take him somewhere that he can actually try on multiple brands so he knows what is comfortable or not.

As i have a 12 year old child myself , my choice of helmet would be a Shrey Armor , available in many colours. My son has an old-style masuri which is exactly the same but not possible to buy at the moment

Cheers for the advice. His birthday is on Sunday so ended up with a Masuri Vision Junior, the green option also coincides with his club colours too (Barnt Green CC).
