New Balance Bats
« on: June 05, 2015, 10:31:09 AM »

Just out of curiosity: and anyone who knows me, will know my take on stickering up someone else's work.

Who makes New Balance bats? are they made here in the UK (I guess not) or in India etc?

I rounded the edges, lightly knocked and applied a scuff sheet to this for a mate last month.
When you can get a bat looking like this for £125, I honestly couldn't care less who actually made it to be honest with you.

Really, they're different companies?

How terrible is that? Not only do you buy a New Balance because the pros use one when they don't even make the bats, but the bat you buy is made by different people who made the one for the pro?

im sure someone will enlighten you on the delights of TK making over 50,000 bats a year for several suppliers.

The Doctor’, as David has been nicknamed because of his qualification, has seen B3 expand rapidly, producing 2,500 bats a year, as well as branching out increasingly into other equipment such as bags, pads and teamwear, just two years after opening its doors.

Already they have county players Steven Mullaney (Nottinghamshire), Mark Footitt (Derbyshire) and Tom Kohler-Cadmore (Worcestershire) as brand ambassadors and produce bats for New Balance, who boast Australian T20 star Aaron Finch and England’s Gary Ballance and Ben Stokes among their stable

That is a snippet from here:

I'm sure Jake is right and they don't make all New Balance bats

My dc580 finally turned up.

Although the face isn't bad the back is painted white. And it's very very concaved. Not sure I'm happy as wasn't expecting a painted bat

New Balance, Slazenger, Puma are among the few brands who get their bats made by a co. named F.C. Sondhi here in India.
The amounts of bats they churn out is mind boggling

So my dc 580 finally arrived.

Ordered Jan 20th for a February 21st delivery on pre order.
Delivered 1st of June! Great service from prodirect and new balance there.

So it arrived and I opened it. And went straight for the face. And was pretty impressed.  No grainy monster. But 6 grains. Pretty straight. No blemish insight.

but then. Nooooooooooooooooo.

don't understand why the rear has been painted. When the face is pretty nice.
I'd prefer it with knots galore over being painted. Why why why.

Anyway profile.

bat weighs 2.10 and is pretty concaved to say the least. But thick up is good. And although I've not removed the plastic. The rebound seems pretty good.

Shame it'll only see an indoor ball if I do keep it.

Probably. Never checked under the plastic. I was so Dissapointed in the painted back. It's already on its way back to pdc
