CA 15000 pro edition any good?

Hi guys,

I am looking to buy a new bat around £250 -300. Any suggestions? I need a mid to high sweet spot so the pickup would be very light. CA 15000 players edition looks nice. These Asian brands are cheaper but r the bats as good as M&H or GN Legend?

Any other bat suggestions?

My Aldred meets that criteria. You also have the benefit that it is hand made in the UK and pressed brilliantly. My Hell for leather isn't too shabby either and is also made in the UK.
The finishing on the newer M&H bats is appalling. Additionally I know of quite a number that have cracked and split very readily. However, I have not seen one that doesn't have an excellent and large middle. they also have very thin handles and can feel a little bottom heavy. In my view they are not worth the money.

Why spend £300?
You can get a Hunts G1 custom from Jake for (I think) £175  ;)

And if you don't fancy a Hunts, I'm sure @Vitas Cricket will have something else that fits the bill

H4L, B&S, Salix, GN, got some lovely high end TONs and Kooks in stock too.

My experience of CA's (and ive seen a lot) is that they are never the weight declared on the sticker, i've seen 2 ever that were lighter than 2'10, and both of these were only just under 2'10.

Sure the high end CA's look great and the ball will rocket off them, but they are let down by cheap handles and corner cutting that means they are less likely to last very long.

I'm yet to see one that is full width, and very few i see are full SH size.

Don't CA's supposedly have shorter blades as well or is this a unconfirmed myth?

I've seen a few that are narrower than normal.
They make them slightly smaller so that it looks like a big bat for the weight (e.g a full width 2lb10 bat will have smaller edges narrower bat in the same weight)

Shorter blades, over dried and reduced width. Not worth going for CA any more

Here we are again, back to beating down CA.

- I have a pro CA bat and it is the same length as my M&H Amplus and pings better than my Amplus.

- I have seen varying finishing jobs on CAs but they are no worse than some of the other brands I have owned.

- Regarding "sticker" weight, it's weight without grip and stickers. Also, due to change in environment and moisture content, bats can gain weight. My Lavers gained two ounces and they are amazing bats.

- CAs are very popular bats in my league because of their performance and bats outlast their handles; I have never seen any handle issues. On the other hand, the blades look battered because of team mates borrowing and using the same bat.

I have owned custom and non-cusom bats of nearly every brand offered in this forum and CA is a very safe bet.

I had actual professional players CA and it was extremely good. @ca_gold had used it thoroughly and he says it's one of best ever bat he has ever used.

i have some friends who only use CA irrespective of which country they are from. CA does make very good bats but again CA are the ones i have see with most toe damages and other breakages. Just 2 weeks back my friend's CA 10000 broke into 2 pieces. He still wants to buy a new CA though.

I have WASTED so much money tinkering with custom bats and other brands. There are only two brands that guarantee performance and they are my match bats:

1. CA
2. Millichamp and Hall (Amplus)

I wish I knew long ago how good these two brands and I'd have bought bats of different weights from these two brands.

I have near "brand new" (read: lightly or not used) fully intact bats sitting in my closet that either have not opened up or just don't feel right.

All the CA owners I know are happily scoring runs and hitting big sixes. Everybody accepts that bats break.
