Customer service
« on: June 26, 2015, 11:03:20 AM »

I ordered a bat on the 10th of June and having heard nothing got in contact this Tuesday to enquire as to the ETA of the bat. I still haven't had a reply. What's everyone else's experience with L&W?

Any reply would have sufficed. When I was ordering and asking questions I got instant answers.

I have had similar frustrations. I'm an unashamed fan of l&w bats but the response post payment is slower than prepayment.
I've always been looked after as a customer though. Even if correspondence times are slow.
To be fair I've also experienced this with other bat makers.

As far as I have known, they are good at taking care of the customer. Usually Anthony van Dorsten or James Laver responds within a reasonable time.

Was generally much more prompt when Andy was there. Anthony is good, but not quite as much on the ball. Their FB page has been more active since he joined though, so perhaps it's just because they're branching out a bit on the social media side!

Hi Lazza
How did it go for you? Did you have to up the ante?
I'm having the same problem mate, ordered and payed for my bat 15 days ago and have heard nothing since.
In the past I had bought 2 screaming cats and Julian would send an email each time stating when the bat
would be ready and true to form they were.
Since Julian has retired I thought I'll give L&W a go, "Not happy Jan"

It did get posted and arrived safely but no communication on the ETA of the bat in between ordering and sending. I did get a tracking number once they sent it though. It took about 3 weeks all up I recall.

I am a bit surprised about the delayed response; I had better experiences with them even though I too had to repeatedly ask them about the expected shipping date. There definitely is delay in communicating the tracking details but it seems they too get the tracking information late from DHL due to the location they are in (Hopefully you have read the interview with James Laver on the Cricinfo website - http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=35749.0). I used to call DHL directly to get the tracking details after receiving confirmation that my orders have been sent without waiting for them to email the AWB details.

Look forward to seeing the bat photos and review soon on the Forum.

Update....
Sent a polite but to the point email about getting some idea on an E.T.A on my bat, well its been a week and
still nothing. Trial match this weekend and the comp starts the following weekend and me without a bat.
Don't really know what to do.......Blood is starting to simmer

Hit up twitter and facebook.

Firms are very quick to respond on there so that they look like a company who deal with matters quickly.  Way of the world these days, public exchanges are more important than private customer care.
