Lightning vs Birmingham
« on: June 27, 2015, 08:38:38 AM »

so,

I was at Old Trafford last night watching the game and I cant for the life of me understand how Giles picks his team! Livingstone coming in so low down the order was a shocking decision!

cant understand why Horton is still in the T20 squad, although he batted fairly well last night he just doesn't attack like a T20 top order should.  Comparing the styles of the top order of Birmingham (Chopra, Mccullum Porterfield) against Horton, Brown, Prince is just like chalk and cheese. The lancs squad seems to be more geared towards the four day format.

Can anyone shed any light on whats happening with Reece and Protcer?

Reece has a broken hand from punching a wall, he has never really been a shorter format player for lancs

And proctor is playing 2s and he's also sub proing for a club in our league this weekend

I could be wrong but I think Proctor plays in the Bolton League. As for Giles, there's been grumblings amongst the members that he's focusing on Championship promotion rather than the one day formats.

That would make sense to me, as he seems to be building the squad around championship players.

I also heard rumours that Horton is not being offered a new contract, food for thought.

There's a few lads in that lancs squad stealing a living!

In my very honest opinion: Horton, Brown, Buck, Clark.  All good players but if we compare other county players playing the same role as these guys they simply don't compare.  Lancashire are bearing the fruit of a poor academy system.  Far too may players are left to slip through the net: just in recent years we have seen cockbain, miller, barker, critchley, Whelan, simpson, mullaney leave to other counties.  Retention at Lanca"(No Swearing Please)" is awful.

Cant understand why we offered buck or Edwards contracts when they aren't going to play......
