Desperately bad luck for Rhino. Truly great fast bowler but a brittle body. His record was extraordinary.

Surprised that Pat Cummins has been recalled as he's hardly played any 4 day cricket since his Test debut.

Gutted that he's retired.

A career full of injury, such a shame!

Massive blow for Aus. I thought he was the one guy who could take Anderson/Broad on in typical English conditions. Bet Cook is delighted (from an ashes win point of view - it's sad when anybody retires through injury). As good as Johnson/Starc/Hazelwood are they aren't typical English seamers or have the experience in test cricket in England.

Such an awesome bowler and humble bloke too. Great shame it has ended this way, fantastic record and injuries have robbed him of bigger and better things.

It's a sad end to a career.
As an England fan however, I hope this is the start of a terrible tour of the UK for the Aussies!

Sad end to a career, definitely in my top 5 favourite pace bowlers I've watched - so consistent and relentless when his body held up. Huge blow to the Australian side, losing a world class bowler. I feel the tests will be a lot closer as a result.

Always on the cards with his history. Just a shame he couldn't have bowed out at the end of this series.

Very good bowler, great shame.

On the flip side I have been watching Cummins and Pattinson at the High performance centre all week and they have been blowing rapid. They both look hungry to play.

Didn't realise they were that way inclined  :o

Yaaawn.

2009 Ashes:

Ben Hilfenhaus - 23 wickets
Peter Siddle - 22 wickets
Mitchell Johnson - 20 wickets
Stuart Broad - 16 wickets
James "Greatest Bowler of All Time" Anderson - 12 wickets

Remind me again how shyte Johnson was that series?
