Hi all.

Just after some opinions on what Kookaburra have been doing over the last 18months or so with their gloves.

I've noticed that you can't buy the gloves a number of the Kookaburra sponsored players are using.

Happy to be corrected if I'm wrong, but for the last Australian summer, Chris Rodgers was using Sausage Bubble branded gloves, yet this design wasn't available through any of the major cricketing stores here in Brisbane or on the Kookaburra site.

More recently, i saw yesterday Ian Bell batted in sausage design gloves (sorry english boys, he wasn't there long enough for me to get a proper look at if they did have some splits, but he has always batted in sausage since being with Kooka from memory). However, on the UK Kookaburra site, the Kahuna range doesn't have a sausage design, with the Kahuna players glove being a 4 or 5 split glove.
Same for Brad Haddin with the Australian Kahuna range and Chris Rodgers with the Bubble II.

I noticed looking at the 15/16 Australian Kookaburra range, that there is only one sausage finger design (which none of the recognised Kooka Australian batsmen use).

I'm a fan of the extra protection that Sausage styles provide and frankly the like the traditional look.

I'm concerned that other brands will follow leaving no sausage style on the amateur market (and me gloveless!!!).

Do you think this is a trend the other brands will pick up on?

Kooka do a glove for their sponsored pro's, same as pads, all same specs just the different colour schemes. They have never been readily available to the public. Sausage is quite unpopular in the market but most brands well always offer 1 option. Apart from the colour the Warner gloves are a really nice sausage glove.

I Can't work unless I can write with a pen or type and I have two pairs of gloves made for Ricky Ponting,  they are both sausage fingered and you can get them from the http://stores.ebay.co.uk/lorimers4sport/ as stated by Julesoak.

They are top quality and offer great protection and are cheaper than the top end Kookaburra player gloves on sale to the publlic.

If you are specific about getting the latest and greatest then you can try Kookaburra verve 1000 batting gloves. I have the sausage style Kookaburra Ricochet gloves and find them to be very comfortable.

There's half a dozen on there, few Kook/Impulse Bell style ones and some stock Bubble/Verve. Maybe Rogers just uses the English Bubble gloves?

Recently bought the Impulse players from Lorimers, and if they have more I absolutely recommend them. Very comfortable, feel very sturdy but still lightweight. My only observation is that they are a bit bigger than the standard 950s, but that isn't much of an issue except that I prefer a fairly snug fit on my hands.

Do you think the players versions are a bit bigger as a lot of the pros like/use inners? Or just a natural variation between models?

Possibly, but I use inners as well. Fingers felt about half a cm longer, so not much difference really

From the 3 kinds of Kookaburra Pro Players gloves I've had (CCX of Joe Denly, Kahuna of Solanki I believe and Recoil of Ian Bell) they are at opposite ends of the spectrum. The Joe Denly ones are More like Small Mens. The Ian Bell ones are the best fitting gloves I've had, but they'd also be closer to youths size and the Kahuna was the biggest of the lot, and I basically swam in those. The Recoil and CCX have Cougar Pittards Palms and the Kahuna had English Pittards. They all have minimal branding too.

I wear inners and I prefer the inners to fill out the glove and be tight, so the smaller fitting ones really worked for me.

The ones I bought from Lorimers are definitely slightly bigger than standard 950s, I have both in mens

I bought a pair of these exact ones from Lorrimers pre-season and whilst they aren't massive, they are bigger than Kook small mens size. The small mens fits me perfectly (pretty much the same size as SS/TON indian mens gloves) but these are slightly loose on the palm and have relatively long fingers. Maybe I have puny girly hands.

Maybe they are just all over the shop as mine are definitely more like youths
