Yeah, are elite bats much cheaper over there?

Probably not. Custom made gray nics through jake is cheaper. But not sure it's as high level as this I meant to be.

The legend experience is almost double this I think!!

There's nothing magic about it other than its a waste of wood.

To get them this big and that low in weight they are dried to within an inch of their lives. He said so himself. They'll make 20 odd bats of which only 2-3 will last any kind of tour. 5-6 will break in the first net session and the rest are nursed through games with tape as he did with Barty and myself.

He knows the flaws, but he doesnt buy them! Also it's about the little dude going out with a club. The piece i have from on of the broken bats is drier than Ghandis flip flop, we are talk sub 3%... it's dust! The ball impact damage from one single delivery has created a dent in the blade 10mm deep... not good.

Yes it's massive, it's bigger than the 2012 IPL Gayle bat i have here but it's not good if you want more than 1-2 games from it and you'll need 10 plus to find two that can stand up to the punishment.

Unless you are in a position to fleece a sponsor for free kit... which you aren't... don't bother its a waste of time as they are not made to perform consistently.
Excellent post reminds me of the test player who asked his Batmaker to make a bat from a 26 grain low density cleft his batmaker had the batmaker told him the bat would be was only good for 200 Runs the player said if I score 200 in my test match innings I will be very happy

Surely these bats would be covered by a warranty? If you get one and it snaps first innings one would thing GN would have another on the way to you.

That's why they are hard to get bats to the general public are also harder pressed to maintain warrenties

As far as I'm concerned the one I bought is covered under a full warranty. When I picked it up, the guys at GCCC didn't mention anything about a limited warranty, etc. I used mine for some throw downs this arvo and cannot say how impressed I was with it! The ping was fantastic but that is probably due to the sheer weight of a heavy bat but the middle was exceptionally long.

He's clearly simple and thinks bigger wood is always better. Anyone with an ounce of common sense know it's not the size that matters, but what you do with it!

I read something written by I think it was a GN bat maker about the psychological importance of a bigger bat, it gives the batsman more faith and confidence. You might "know" your bat weighs x amount and taps up so well and went well in the nets and "know" where the middle is etc but it's not the same subconscious feeling as looking down and seeing a big bloody lump of wood.

Seems frivolous to be smashing up a G1+++ bat every innings to those of us that dream of owning just one for such a tiny benefit, but at test level where money's no object, sports psychology is heavily employed, marginal gains add up to wins and Jimmy Anderson has his own personal hypnotist, why wouldn't you?

Ah but give this bloke Gower's Powerspot(for those not old enough to have used the original you don't know what you missed!) from the 1980's and would he be able to score the same style of runs? :)

How is the bat treating you pal?
