Is old faithful dead??
« on: December 09, 2009, 01:06:01 PM »

Right thought i would post some pics up so the likes of Hit4Six etc can advise if their if life in the old girl yet...i fear the worst but am still grapsing onto the hope she can be given the kiss of life!!!

Just the cracked toe, back, side and surface crack to glue back together to get another season or at least nets out of her otherwise its a framed cabinet and a minutes silence to be observed by all! Break it to me gently if its bad news  :'(

Easy to repair, but the playability of the bat could not be guaranteed - the cracks on the face looks like the bat is beginning to delaminate and this is not good. By all means send it off to hit4six, but i think realistically you are not going to get much more use out of that bat unless you wrap a ton of tape around the bat which would be sacrilege.

Put the money towards a new bat.

Thanks shilly stripped off all the tape that was holding it together previously!! Think the delaminationg will be its downfall as the darker crack in the middle is linked to the crack on the back when you press it together.

May look for a repalcement newbery soon but got one of our bats on the go at the moment as well as a few others, ill stick up a few pics in a bit of the selection

Yes mate which is prob why all my bats are broken as they seem to get used by 4 out of 11 of the batman each week on a Saturday and Sunday! Yet when its my turn to go in i have to find another bat for myself!!!

The newbery is what i used to put you into the school with as well mate for reference lol

Here is the newbery that Tom sent to me for a refurbishment and repair. I have applied some newbery stickers (he knows that they are harrow bat stickers) and I have also applied a scuff sheet, tape and a free grip! Enjoy the pictures.

Got to say what a top effort this was by Craig to manage to repair old faithful! Just so you can get a true insight into the state of the bat i have the before pics below prior to a quick rub down by myself. Craig has taken on the challenge and won by the looks of it!!!!

If he can do this to my bat then its only fair to say he is able to repair almost anything given to him!!! Looking forward to getting it back now and taking it to nets.
