I wonder if those holes are there to enable (optional) Stuka style Jericho Trumpets to be fitted? Would be a great option for players with big flourishes to get a huge siren wail going!  :D

Saw one in the flesh a few weeks ago and it was absolutely beautiful. Picked up like a feather and was huge. I think it looks great too. Pre was a hefty $950AUD though.

What about 2lb 10 picking up like 2lb 7, loves a gimmick. Wonder how long they will last this time.
It's not uncommon for bats to pickup lighter than their dead weight. It's not new and doesn't GM have a pickup index? Much the same thing.

got his from impala's facebook page which could answer to your question; https://www.facebook.com/pages/Impala-Sports/132568716897889

MORE TECHNOLOGY!
Due to our trademark handle ends which are measured in at 44mm in comparison to the generic 38mm handle, our full range of bats feature an unbelievable balance.
The thicker end of the handle which is featured below, makes ALL our bats "pick up" approximately 3 ounces lighter than the dead weight of the bat..
We sticker each bat with this sticker which indicates the dead weight of the bat in comparison to the "pick up" weight
Head into the impala office or your local GCCC to see it for yourself.
For more bats head over to impalasports.com.au

believe GM has a pick up index as well; its more-less the same thing i reckon..

The GM pickup index is not the same as Impala's "weighs 3lb, picks up 2lb4" nonsense (which @Vitas Cricket had a detailed rant about, if I remember correctly?)

The GM pickup index doesn't give dead weight, just a pickup. Naturally those bats with the "best" pickup are lighter, but they don't make a quantified statement about the pickup as such.

Also, as pickup is a personal thing to each person putting those stickers on is asking for trouble in my opinion...

This idea of a counter weight in the handle at the top is great to an extent - but it will depend on were the pivot point is, which is dependent on where you hold the bat on the handle and how you pick the bat up etc.

it remains a gimmick. 3oz lighter is bonkers marketing guff.

the GM pick index is there because all the shapes they make are the same size/specifications as they are made by a machine and then it gives a rough approximation of whether a bat is light, medium of heavy. It is also there as a marketing tool as most people will say "I need a 2lbs8 or 9 bat" but in fact use something that is 2lbs10 or 11 and don't realise it.

Do Impala make their own bats or are they made by a third party?
