GN silver gloves
« on: August 01, 2015, 03:13:07 AM »

Just went down to the local cricket shop to have a look at the new gear in stock and picked up a pair of these new gloves from GN

The leading finger on the right hand has something fairly solid at the bottom.and what feels like flexible conduit at the top of the finger. The middle finger on the same hand has solid protection on the lower half.
GNs answer to the ss whiteouts? Maybe...

Look very much like the GN Australia version of the GN UK Prestige gloves.
Very nice looking pair of gloves mate!

I saw these first hand a few weeks ago.

The silver range (bats, gloves and pads) impressed me most of all the GN ranges.
Must say the Silver bats had the best pick up of any of the GN stock. But tiny handles.

My issues with all the big brands in Australia (GN, Kooka etc) is that you pay a packet load.
I'm pretty impressed with the quality of these though.

A bucket load compared to what?

A bucket load compared to what?

Top of the range GN Omega gloves - $135
Top of the range GN Legend gloves - $149
Top of the range Kooka Kahuna - $145
Top of the range Kooka Bubble - $120

I recently got two pairs of SS LE Batting gloves (as used by Sangakkara) for $70 a pair.

I get where you're coming from @Bat and Ball Cricket

The big brands do cost a bit. These gloves set me back about 89 but I know what I'm getting with gray nics. My last pair of GNs were predator 1000s which I've only recently thrown away, so I got a good 5 or so years  use out of them (in rotation with another pair or two)

Last year I bought a pair of the ss le gloves and found them to be quite snug fit and very sweaty very quickly - I'm not a big sweater in the hands department so to find them getting Damp after only a few overs I wasn't impressed.
I only paid $54 for mine shipped to the door so I can't complain on the price of them

I agree with your comment about the slim handles on the GN range. I don't find them comfortable at all and I don't like having to add extra grips to make a bat feel right either. Give me a nice oval handle with a single grip on it anyway

Got a pair of these and they are class. Love all white gear and will match my Kook players all white pads nicely.
