Glamorgan v Hampshire RL50
« on: August 02, 2015, 02:27:16 PM »

This game has just been cancelled after 6 overs of the second innings due to concerns with the pitch quality after Jimmy Adams took a whack to the head off a full pitched ball....

Watch the first 20 overs and the ball was really turning and bouncing so I'm not surprised.

That ball that hit Jimmy Adams was absolutely ridiculous. Just spat off a length and rose sharply to hit him in the helmet. How a county pitch with lots of prep can end up doing that is beyond me...

Only realised during the interviews after that Glamorgan started the 50 over season -2 after being penalised for a dodgy pitch last season too! ..... Something not right in that department at Glamorgan!!

What a disgrace. Here is one county that can be dropped from the list to make the structure smaller.

I've only again since realised a few more year ago they had 8 points deducted for a bat LVCC pitch!!! Some heavy punishments required I think.

Was it the same pitch that caused them to be deducted points last time?

I wouldnt want to be the head groundsman this morning being called into the Bosses office. Could be down the job centre by lunch time.

That ball that hit Adams was insane! Doesn't seem right that they split the points though? It's Glamorgans fault the game had to be abandoned surely?

What about the punters paying to watch the game. Bet they are really pleased. Glamorgan should be giving out refunds.

Just another spin on the pitch. Who is to say Rudolph and co didn't ask for a very dry wicket? Wouldn't be the first time the groundsman has copped some flak for orders he was given?

Is there a reason they would want a particularly dry wicket? Admittedly I haven't seen Cosker bowl for a while but I don't remember him being a huge turner of the ball?

Added to that Hampshire had 4 spinners in their squad.

Glamorgan have given full refunds to everyone that bought tickets. Still living in hope that Hampshire will be awarded the 2 points  :-[.

they said straight after the game there will be a full refund to the paying public. They also said the same pitch was used on the Friday where they posted 300+ and it was not unusual to use the same pitch again so quickly after. They also said they are restricted to which pitches they can use as there are only a couple that can be used to host the Sky TV cameras.
