Given the opening poster says he wants a low middle bat for a number of worthy reasons, I don't understand why people are suggesting high middled bats!!

Or harrow bats - unless I'm missing reading between the lines and you're a Dwarf or 12

That info wasn't volunteered until after I mentioned a higher middled bat and harrow length - plenty of sound logic behind it as well.

When I think long middle I immediately think Tendulkar profile, but they don't always pick up the best, that's not a hard and fast rule mind.

Sure - that is what works for you. Hockey players hit the ball differently (I should know...) I have struggled with high middled bats and get on much better with a lower middle bat... - what works for one doesn't always work for another...

true on the hockey thing but you aren't short and that does appear to have some bearing on where you hit it. Ultimately buying a crictech sheet is a good way to go about working out where you hit it.

I can't recommend Paul Aldred enough. My bat is an absolute rocket and pings from a couple of inches above the toe to the stickers. Send him an email as previously suggested and plump for a butterfly 1, best value out there in my opinion.

Yes - this is me batting these days...

Alternatively you can look at your old trusty bat and see where you have hit the ball most with it. I appreciate on here a lot of people don't use a bat enough for that to happen.

I also have found that I hit the ball with a bowling machine about 6 inches higher on a bat than I do when I play outside - i.e. when I play outside I play totally differently to how I play against the bowling machine!

You could try David Banks STAC Bats he is based at Stourbridge cc.
You can arrange to visit and select your cleft and David will shape your profile while you are there
Should you wish to go and take a look but  have difficulty contacting David pm me as  Stourbridge cc is by my house and I am happy to give him a message.

Woodstock are in Shropshire - gear seems good. A lot about in Worcester leagues, but not used one myself. Stac still making bats, but not as much as before. Dave Banks is a great bloke and based at Smethwick cc nowadays I believe. I've used several of his bats and were really great. Solitaire are good and cheap, about £125 for a SH bat. Great service - Roger Weston has done 2 great repairs to my bats for me. Quite a few mates use his bats and they all really happy with them.

There, corrected my mistake- Stourbridge CC not Smethwick. Loved the 2 Stac bats I had and top bloke in Dave Banks too.

I wouldn't concern yourself to much regarding high or low bat middle as it makes no sense batting is more about how you play technique and timing  is the key putting yourself in the perfect position to play the shot rather than where the middle of your bat is.
