Has anyone got any details on next years UK Kookaburra range?  Just been looking through the GCCC catalogue and like the look of the Plasma and Onyx and was wondering if they will be available in the UK?

Also having not used a Kook before I was wondering what others experience with them is.  Unfortunately people that I know have generally had bad experiences (alot of broken handles, splits etc) with them which has always put me off but wanted to hear some positive stories as well.

It looks like the Onyx will be one of the new ranges but I can't say much. One of the guys at my club works for Kookaburra and all he said was the new range will be out in November.

I've only had good experiences of kook bats. I'm using a kahunna i got from Jake and its a gun bat. Other guys at my club use a range of kooks and all really like them.

I have used Kahuna 1000 & 800 (2013 & 2014 models) and i will stand by those bats for many more years to come. For a bat weighing 2.9lb, 38mm edges and 60mm spine is amazing !

I have been tempted with the SS Master 9000 bats, but the trusted Kookaburra Kahuna still remains my top choice for a match ....

+1 for kook softs. Just bought a pair Kook kahuna 900 batting gloves. Its much better than the 2013/14 model design.

2012 I used all Kook gear. Kahuna 1000 and two 600's. The 1000 was beautiful and a gun, the two 600's were pretty much as nice to look at and performed almost as well. All three bats are still going strong as I gave them away to not so talented jnrs (not going to give them to the good ones as they get all the help anyway usualy). The 1000 I was very reluctant to give away but it simply wasn't going to get used

The pads and bag however.. I had top end Kahuna pads adn they fell apart after one season (granted I play and net alot but still!!) and the bag (the top one) fell apart also. Gloves were fine (just used and sweaty obviously)

The Kook I had was left handed!
The only shot that felt like it came off anything resembling a sweet spot was the reverse sweep!

No details on the 2016 Kook range yet, but we are seeing it early next month.

As for satisfaction with Kook bats, i would ask where you guys purchased your bats? I know @ProCricketer1982 went the warehouse and picked them himself as he was a sponsored player at the time, but as that isn't possible for most people, I would suggest relying on retailers who handpick, and there aren't that many UK retailers who handpick their bats on a regular basis, most of them are on this forum.

We are very close to Kookaburra and visit all the time, averages out to at least once a month and I'm always happy to take requests if someone is looking for something in particular.

Mine was 2nd hand from here if I remember correctly.
Was a low end ricochet (I think it has sample on the handle) that had beautiful grains and I got it for a bargain price.

I maintain it was a total plank though, and the fact I couldn't hit the ball of the square had nothing to do with my lack of ability whatsoever

Would be nice if Kook actually recognised cricketers in the UK use oval handles. I'm sure they could find a factory in India that could make them.
