Millichamp & Hall Bespoke
« on: August 16, 2015, 05:56:08 PM »

Hi all,

So my missus spoilt me yesterday for my birthday and bought me an M&H bespoke bat session.

I am going down for my bat fitting and selection next week. I was just doing a bit of preparation...what questions am I likely to be asked? I play in Yorkshire on lowish pitches and hit well straight - would you recommend a mid to low middle? Does anyone know if you can choose the more retro original stickers?

Any pointers would be great as its my first bespoke. I currently use an off the shelf 2.8 GM Agron with two thing grips.

Thanks in advance.

Your wife is a keeper!! I'd be having a look for these 45 or 50mm edges pro bats they've been advertising on twitter! Got 3 M&H's and they are all really good. I don't think you'll have any problem with getting what stickers you want, the original ones are some of the nicest stickers going

What grade willow is it for the bespoke session, top grade I'd presume??

@JB - yes she's a keeper indeed! Would the large profiles you talk about come 2.8 or heavier? I would love the millchamp puma stickers but I doubt that would be available.

Yes liscon - it is the full pro grade willow.

I'd take your current bat as a guide (if you like it)...

They were saying 2.7 was available! Just had a look, think the 2.7 was the ashes bat.

I would definitely take your current bat with you so you can show the maker where you mainly hit the bat and also the handle you like.

Those are the 2 main things you need plus weight.

You should be able to get the vintage green and white branding.

Top wife!!  :D Just going to echo what Buzz said basically, if you like your old bat take that with you and have in mind things you would improve (if any) about it.

Host your photos on a site like photobucket and then copy the links into your post  :)

Now that is a nice looking bat! The NB looks tiny next to it! Any chance of the specs on the bat please? Edge size, weight etc.

Weight: 2.6 bare 2.75 with grip and scuff sheet
Edges: 48mm

The handle is much thinner than my NB (GM argon restickered) hence how they have got more wood in the middle.

That makes the NB bat look like a kids bat. The stickers look really classy too.

So what are you going to have to get the missus for her birthday to make it up to her?

Yeah I love the stickers. He said that he hadn't put these specific ones (original not Somerset) on a bat for years. I just wanted retro and not the modern new looks ones.

The missus has got a holiday to Sydney for NYE - she will have to make do with that!
