To many umpires now leave it to the technology which means lots of no balls are not called until there's a wicket and Johnson benifits more than most.

I do believe though that umpires today aren't as skilled as umpires from years gone by.... There is no need for them to hone their skills or even concentrate on the game as hard because they can just go to the 3rd umpire. May has well not have the umpire on field make any decisions at all

I lost count while they were playing but when there's over 10 clips of you overstepping the front line when you've only bowled about 5 overs and been called for none of them in your spell so far that's pretty farcial. (Re Johnson)

How many wickets were taken with those so called no balls? And how many did you count for England?

Just watched some of the highlights over again and how poor was England with the bat.. Thought it was the Australians batting for them for a minute..

Also how beautiful is Lyon bowling at the moment...

Johnson bowling  no balls  as shown in tv replay clips :                                                                                                            5 overs 10 no balls none called.

Irritatingly all of Finns balls leading up to his wicket appeared to be legal. A few were very tight though.

So Aus have been called for 1 no ball so far and England called for 3.... How many have been missed from both teams? It's not the players fault it's the umpires lack of skills again

Definately umpires fault not players.

The section I watched yesterday's my claimed 8 out of 10 balls from Johnson had been no balls.

You may well get your wicket back if out, but do you get your confidence or broken jaw back if you get stung by a bumper from 19yards?

Umpires need to get on it, or a system introduced to detect.

@Number4, it's both. Bowlers shouldn't be bowling no balls. Full stop. If they do, every one should be picked up by an umpire and called. Both are at fault. Every ninety mph ball bowled off a shorter distance affects the batsman's ability to judge length and pace.

I liked the TMS suggestion during the Trent bridge test. Move the square leg umpire up square of the bowling wicket to call no balls there, if the on strike umpire really isn't going to call.

Two club cricketers Wood and Ali have slogged a 50 run partnership. Neither have any real long term Test futures as both are crap.

That said Wood has just pooed himself against Johnson and is out.
