Choice of bats
« on: August 21, 2015, 02:06:40 PM »

I really can't decide which bat to go for next.. At the moment I've got a Warsop Scimitar that weighs roughly 2lb 9 which is an absolute BEAST.

However as I really like that bat I want to try and preserve it somewhat and get a similar weight bat to use for non-league cricket/maybe in the nets.

At the moment I'm torn between 2 real choices as I don't want to spend loads and I like the smaller bat brands, so my choice has basically come down to:

B&S Assegei 3* or a H4L Demon.. anybody used either or both of these bats that has an opinion?

I've used and owned an assegai 3*, my one was lovely and having given it to a team mate is now opening up into a gun bat

I have used a friend's H4L HellFire G2 in practice and its a very good bat. I have seen some of my friends using H4L Hattori as well and no one has any complaints till now ...

You can't really go wrong with either one of the bats ..

While both of those bats will be great, why not get another Warsop Scimitar?

Never used B&S but I've got a couple of H4L's and they're great bats, currently got a Hellfire Monster and an old shaped Tempo.

B&S are decent bats....H4L are absolutely superb! I have had a couple and both were guns!
But another option could be to take up a forum offer (such as Red Ink offer) and get a copy of your Warsop made?

To be fair, John did an amazing job of copying my 1271 last year.

Admittedly slightly smaller, did it in 2'10.

I've had god knows how many Warsops and they all go like a steam train, they just all seem to break on me pretty quickly. Gone to a H4L and it goes just as well, and it has lasted the last 18 months of 2 games a week plus nets.

Doubt you'll be disappointed with either though in truth.
