Bat advice

Hi all

Newbie here, experienced cricketer whose long time 10 year old Kookaburra Kahuna finally gave up this year. I am therefore looking for a new bat for the 2016 season and wondered whether you could recommended me a bat based on the info below please?

-   Opening batman, front foot aggressive driving style
-   Mostly low slow pitches so was thinking mid to low middle?
-   Round handle (don’t get on with the oval ones)
-   Long Handle or LB? (6ft 2” tall)
-   Between 2lb 7 – 2lb 10
-   Budget up to £300

Before this season I had purchased a H4L NV G1 bat (SH, 2lb 8 and oval handle), great bat but just didn’t get on with it in nets or early games due to oval handle and mid to high sweet spot. So sold it to team mate who loves it and I used Kookaburra until its demise…so want to make sure this one right.

Hi mate. Welcome to the forum, you will love it here but your wallet won't as you'll end up buying a hundred bats :)
Regarding your question, if you really like kookaburra you could get another kahuna or you could get a custom made. I think Jake at Vitas is still doing hunts county grade one customs for £175.

Try a Hellfire or Hattori, lower middles than the NV. You could get one made off one of the sponsors who stock H4L with a round handle.

Go for the H4L Hattori, its got a low middle and mine has a round handle.

H4L Hattori Pro sounds right up your alley. I'm sure Jake can sort you out with one which is made as a LB to your weight. Either that, or a Hunts County G1 custom at £175 is also a good option!

I had this made up to my spec at b3 using there bespoke service. Best season I've ever had, I opened, 6-1, and it's pretty much the same spec your after other than sh and oval handle.

Try red ink John makes some lovely bats to your own specs he is also a forum Sponser which means you may get a members discount.

Bet you toe the balls to the parking lots of most grounds with that WEAPON 😜

Sure did boyo !! That thing in a 2stripe or above - I'd feel so confident each time I'd  look at it tapping the ground.
And as a bowler, I wouldn't want to bowl at that knowing even mistimes are denting by figures !!

what weight is that? is looks huge.  Is there any concaving?

I wouldn't buy a long blade from a website without having already tried something the same in the flesh. It's a different beast

Many thanks all for your input - have thought about another kahuna but my original was a Warrior and not a lot like it out there now!

I forgot to mention when the KB broke I borrowed a LB for remainder of season which I settled with straight away.

I have fired a few emails off to B3 and Red Ink :)
