How about TON as a wildcard?

End of the day it's about profits and GM are big enough to carry on without him. I suspect the huge amount they presently pay root could pay for 2 or 3 up and coming stars in the england setup.

Money rules the world and for Joe's sake I hope it doesn't corrupt, It'll be his manager/agent trying to get as much money out of companies for personal gains probably.

Shows how little loyalty there is when money starts getting thrown about - to be sponsored by a company since you're 11, using the same kit taking you all the way from a youngster to being world number 1, to then drop them for a bit of cash is very poor IMHO, would've expected better.

Money talks!

Really? Should Bopara have stayed with Warsop?

Companies drop players too.

Reckon it'll most likely by NB as mentioned on here a week or so ago, can't see him suiting Spartan imo.

Didn't realise NB were in line to take over the kit rights from Adidas (is there any truth in this?) although I reckon they'd be pretty decent going on the looks of the new South Africa kit they've done.

If id had the 18months he's just had, I wouldn't change my kit for all the tea in china. Batting is a superstitious game!!

Money absolutely talks and to be fair it's pretty easy for us to sit here in our regular jobs and complain about sports stars showing no loyalty it must be hard for them to turn it down surely? It's the same with footballers moving clubs for the cash, I mean if I work at Tesco's for £8 an hour and then Sainsbury's ring me up offering £15 an hour nobody would question my loyalty if I moved to Sainsburys, I know it's obviously much much larger sums of money involved but they're only trying to get the best out of their career like we all do day to day. That's my slightly brutal opinion on it all anyways haha  :)

We went down to Warsop last year to choose a bat for my mate and asked them about ravi bops. they said they once made 45 bats for him IN ONE SEASON!!!!!!!!

erm hello? that's a lot of bats.  :)

"We have sponsored Joe for 11 years since he was 13 in fact so whilst we are naturally disappointed we of course understand that players move on for commercial reasons

Doesn't sound like GM wanted to drop him IMO

You say that, but cricketers have a limited shelf life. Joe is in the form of his life and is probably one of the most "sellable" names in the game right now. In his position I'm prepared to bet 90% of people would do the same. As you say, money talks

fundamentally he won't be changing it though really, just giving it a face lift in terms of branding

i'd imagine his new gear will be exactly the same spec as it is now

On another note Adidas will be with England for at lease another 18th months but it doesn't say when in 2017 it ends.

"The deal extends a partnership dating back to 2008, and follows the ECB's completion of a record ten-year title sponsorship deal for domestic Test series with Investec last month. Financial terms of the renewal, which will run from 2013 to 2017, were not released."

New bat - the Spartan Root 200? Or Spartan JR 200?
The New Balance Root 200 doesn't sound too bad either!

But I guess he is ensuring his pension fund is topped up.......can't blame him.

Agreed, but I'm sure GM weren't paying him pittance haha!
