Affinity Cricket
« on: September 24, 2015, 08:36:46 PM »

Had a great afternoon visiting Marcus to pick up some new softs ended up with a duffle and other bits too.  Great to have the tour and see all his work and chat bats.  Well worth buying the cookies.
Marcus is a pleasure to deal with and the passion  he has for his work is a credit to him and easy to chat too.

I've only ever had the pleasure of chatting to him via emails and even then you can "hear" the love and passion he has for his craft...truly a great guy.

Marcus is a lovely fellow. However, he is both a kit-genius and a monumental bellend (his words).

I have seen him bat, and he is best avoided after he has been dismissed.

Cracking kit though!

Not a bad batter for a footballer!ha

I think Marcus like most of us, needs all the help he can get with his batting, hence why his bats are so good.!
I am slightly biased, as I have three world class one off bats from him, that have helped me and others to score lots of runs.
I think because he's relatively new to the game, he brings a fresh approach to bat making.
He won't compromise on performance in a bat, and his other products,,and is always looking to improve and innovate.
They are not cheap, but then, how many do you see being sold on?

I know I'm in the minority here. I sold mine. Won't be buying another.

I have 3 affinitys of which two were bought second hand. So they do come up, but I doubt any be leaving me despite having another 30 bats to choose from.....

The toro I bought from Simonmay I can only presume he didn't get on with the weight, as the bat it'self is a serious serious gun. Used it last quarter of the season and constantly went at a 200 strike rate. Came of like cannon fire.

The carbine I bought from jb, was more cos I asked if he'd sell one, he's not actually advertised it, and like many of us, he has that many bats he just said why not(I believe he still has another 4 affinities).
That two goes like the clappers, it's handle just doesn't suit me, but I will get it altered rather than sell on.

My persona/custom is pretty much perfect for me, and is probably why teammates and oppo have tried to buy it all year. Not according any offers though.

But I'm sure like most bats, there's the odd did out there, but I'm sure if this was relayed to Marcus, he'd do his best to sort it.

@imran75 think he's ok for bat making think someone's coming Saturday to see him.  Got lucky with knee strapping as he's stocked up on KT.

Quality of kit is unbelievable may get some pics up of all my affinity kit minus bat in for cleanup.

Make that 7 mate  ;), I had 9 at one point! Sold on one of his fb specials to a teammate which wasn't a looker but my god it performs & that Carbine to you. Which like you said was only because you wanted one in a hurry and I had another 7. None of the 9 ive had have been anything but excellent. This is why they are rarely for sale

Thought you were going to say 'whats the princess scooter like'  ;)

I like it better than the Aero P2s that I had. They are really good, top protection. I sweat loads when ive got any thigh pad on though so try not to wear one as often as i can
