Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff
« on: May 17, 2008, 08:39:06 PM »

Will Freddie ever return to the Champion we used to know? In the Ashes05 he was unstoppable, but in the recent years he has struggled for form and suffered multiple injuries. Will we ever see the really Freddie back?

Been watching him at Lancashire matches recently and in his batting he has just lost that presence that he used to have. His bowling is still very good and effective but he isnt the same player he was in 2005.

I Think He's Good Enough To Be In The England Team On His Bowling Alone.
I'd Have Him Below Ambrose In The Current Set Up.(Could Be A Different WK By The Time That Flintoff Makes It Into The Team.... Considering The Revolving Door Policy In Place.)

I think he will get back to some sort of form with the bat, but never as good as he was in 05.

For me know his bowling's more important to england than his batting.

his recent injury Side strain, has put him out of first 2 tests!  injuries follow this player otherwise he would have been awesome

i reckon he might get close to 05, but to be honest i think he's past it. i just think he needs to go back to basics, He is trying to be a batter that can do everything. when clearly he cant. so he should just relax when he's out there and enjoy it

I feel if Freddie can stay injury free for the rest of the season and get some overs under his belt at Lancashire he might get close to the Freddie of 2005.

His batting will come back in time, you don't become a bad batsman overnight.  Once his confidence is back to 100% hopefully we'll see the sort of performances which dragged England through games at times!

He will still be a very good bowler but I'm not sure if he will ever be the same as the 05 series all round

i read he is ALSO out of the NZ odi series!  so maybe a comeback for the South African Tour!!!

I just hope WHENEVER he comes back, he comes back for a good period and not a one off.. rest and come back 110% !!
