buckles outside, straps in, it seems aesthetically the way to go. if the straps are touching together then i criss cross the middle strap with the bottom strap and vice versa. it forms like an X shape.

Buckles on the inside for me. Hugely paranoid about my straps sticking together and me falling over like even more of a comedy cricketer.

lets say you are batting right hand and the strap of front pad is pointing towards the bowler i.e you have fastened it inside out if the ball goes down leg it can clip the end of strap and sound like an edge. Thats whi i keep the end of strap inside i.e the strap is fasten facing to toward the stumps  :D

Which doubles the chances of ball or bat clipping the strap and making the noise you're so worried about :D

Just saying :D

@WalkingWicket37 is wrong, buckles are meant to be on the outside. ;)

Buckles on the outside for some pads, and on the inside for others. To be honest, I generally go buckles on the outside now, because I got used to it when I was using my Kooks, which had a wider front leg. Used to prefer the straps to go on the outside, but just doesn't bother me so much now!

Would anyone be able to let me know what makes my GM OLE RH Pads right handed ?
Which way should I be wearing them so they are the correct way around ?

The reason they are right handed is because the left pad will have more wing or side protection. For example, if you are facing a bowler, the side of the left pad is pointing towards the bowler so the side will need more protection. The pads themselves normally have a "R" or "L" tag inside.

Buckles inside to stop the straps catching and opening.

Surely the ball on buckle would make a sound more like ball on bat than the ball catching the strap would.

Also to add into the mix, which pad do you put on first?  Left leg first for me!

100% agree about the buckle, esp as a left hander as i often get hit on/near the wing/edge of the pad really paranoid about the buckle/sounding like a nick- i am also pretty fat so my straps are never over the edge of the pad anyway!!!!!

which pad first - for me the right leg as a lefty - front pad on first is part of my ritual!!!  :D

I am clearly going to have to do a video to explain why you have buckles on the outside...!!

Any update on the video @Buzz? I still need this explaining to me... ;)

Straps on the inside, I was always taught to have them that way as a jnr, so if the ball clips that the umpire doesn't get confused on ball on plastic rather than ball on bat if everything is close down the leg side and give you out if you havn't hit it and it's clipped he buckle on the way through
