Yeah England have the club problem of having to many people that bat and bowl so hard to find someone to bat 9/10/11

I dunno, Anderson is a pretty convincing 11 most of the time  :D

One potential saving grace is that Patel has come in for Wood and is a much more recognised batsman.

Really? Wood is no mug with the bat, and I think as Patel's bowling has come on his batting has unfortunately digressed over the last couple of seasons.

I'm not saying he's Bradman but Patel still bats top 6 for Notts doesn't he? Admittedly I haven't seen much of him over the past year or two so he might have regressed significantly.

Anderson would probably open the batting for most of the sides we play for

The way they're going through them, he may well be opening the batting for England before long  :-[

Absolutely! He's still a test 11 though surely?

Bell playing one of his most important innings for England? if he can dig us up to level(ish) par with Pakistan's 1st innings does it prove the doubters wrong?

Yes - a big score here under duress would certainly silence the doubters (myself included)

That said - odds on him tossing it of between 50 - 60? :)

To be fair (and I'm a bit of a Bell doubter myself) a lot of English sports fans are very fickle so they'll only back him again until he next get's a low score then he'll be public enemy number 1 again!

I'm a bears fan and I've never been a Bell for England fan as he gets pretty runs but not big runs when we need them

I wouldn't mind England dropping him as he would score a ton for us in the CC

I would really love Taylor to get a score though - he seems to have something about him.

Plus think of all the scenes of rejoicing in Hobbiton if he did!

What kind of low grade, village cricket rubbish was that from Ian Bell?
